The “yes, and” charter.
Start with a sandbar, add snorkeling on the way back, catch the sunset on the return leg — the captain builds the itinerary the morning of based on your priorities, the tides, and what’s running. Most groups come in with a general idea and leave with a day that hit everything on the list plus a few things they didn’t know to ask for.
The Jeanneau handles it all: it’s fast enough to reach the backcountry sandbars, small enough to tuck into the patch reef spots, and comfortable enough for a full-day run. Up to eight guests. Six-hour minimum.
This is our most-booked charter and the easiest to recommend — if you don’t know what you want yet, this is the right answer.

How the Day Runs

What people who took this trip say.
“We had an AMAZING time with Captain Dustin — the whole experience was seamless, from the prep call to the boat amenities. The lilypad was a big hit! The captain built the perfect day around exactly what we wanted.”
“We did sandbar + snorkel + sunset all in one day. Captain Pat ran it flawlessly. When the snorkel spot was murky he just found another one. Most flexible, most fun thing we did in Key West.”

What is the Custom Combo Charter?
The Custom Combo Charter is Six Fins' most popular private charter for guests who want more than one activity in the same day.
Instead of choosing only sandbar, only snorkeling, only dolphin watching, only fishing, or only sunset, your group gets a 6-, 8-, or 10-hour private boat day built around your priorities, the weather, the tide, and what is realistic on the water.
What activities can we combine?
Common combinations include sandbar, snorkeling, dolphin watching, eco cruising, harbor cruising, fishing, tiki stops, sunset positioning, swimming, floating, paddleboarding, and quiet backcountry time.
Not every activity fits every duration or every weather day. The captain helps build the route so the day feels smooth instead of rushed.
How long should we book?
Choose 6 hours for a strong two-activity day. Choose 8 hours for the best balance of multiple stops, relaxed timing, and a full private charter feel. Choose 10 hours if you want the most flexible day, a slower pace, or more ambitious routing.
Most guests who want a true multi-activity day should think in terms of 6 or 8 hours rather than trying to force everything into a short charter.
How much does the Custom Combo Charter cost?
The 6-hour Custom Combo Charter is $1,395. The 8-hour Custom Combo Charter is $1,795. The 10-hour Custom Combo Charter is $2,195.
Pricing is flat rate per boat for 1–6 guests, not per person, with captain and fuel included. A 7th guest adds $150 and an 8th adds $300 as a bareboat add-on, with the captain hired separately at $65/charter-hour and fuel at $35/charter-hour.
Is this better than booking separate charters?
Usually, yes. If your group wants sandbar plus snorkeling, dolphin plus eco, fishing plus sandbar, or a sunset finish after a day on the water, one Custom Combo Charter is usually cleaner than stacking separate bookings.
You get one boat, one captain, one schedule, and a route that makes sense geographically.
Can we decide the itinerary ourselves?
You can choose the priorities, but the captain builds the route. That balance matters.
Tell Six Fins what your group wants most, what you are flexible about, and what you do not care about. The captain then weighs tide, wind, water clarity, distance, daylight, marine traffic, and safety to build the best version of the day.
Can we include fishing?
Sometimes, yes. Fishing can be part of a Custom Combo Charter if the timing, gear, and route support it.
If fishing is the main goal, a patch reef fishing charter may be the better fit. If fishing is one part of a mixed day with sandbar, swimming, or sunset, the Custom Combo Charter can make sense.
When you do fish, your Florida saltwater fishing license is covered if your captain carries a six-pack charter license — request Captain Dustin Garland — or buy your own short-term Florida license online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com. Kids are welcome and fish free — no license is needed at any age aboard the charter. Full Florida license rules and exemptions are on the FWC website.
Is this good for families or mixed groups?
Yes. This is one of the best choices for mixed groups because not everyone has to want the same thing. Some guests may want to swim, some may want photos, some may want dolphins, some may want snorkeling, and others may simply want shade and a private boat.
The Custom Combo format gives the captain enough time to serve the whole group rather than building the day around one activity only.
What is included?
Six Fins provides the Jeanneau NC 895, USCG-licensed captain, fuel, safety equipment, ice, water, towels, Bluetooth sound system, swim ladder, lily pad, and snorkel gear or other onboard gear where appropriate for the plan.
Guests bring food, drinks, sunscreen, swimwear, sunglasses, hats, phone protection, and gratuity if the captain earns it.
What happens if conditions change?
That is exactly why this charter works. If water clarity is poor, the captain may emphasize sandbar, dolphin, harbor, or eco routes instead of snorkeling. If wind makes one area uncomfortable, the captain may shift to a protected zone.
The itinerary is custom, but safety and conditions always come first.
