Why Perry is the walk-up choice
The easiest jet ski rental in Key West to actually find
Half the work of a Key West vacation is finding the place. Perry Hotel & Marina makes this one easy.
Perry Hotel & Marina is the Six Fins original jet ski rental launch site — the slip we opened in 2024 and the location we still call home. It sits on the north side of Stock Island, off Shrimp Road at Coconut Row, hotel-adjacent, with the marina basin visible from US-1 as you drive down the Keys. If you're staying at Perry, the walk to the dock is shorter than the walk to the hotel restaurant. If you're not staying there, you plug 7025 Shrimp Rd, Dock J, Slip 1 into your phone, you find the entrance, and you park for free in the marina lot.
That sounds like a small thing. It isn't. A lot of Key West jet ski rentals are tucked behind boat yards, down dirt roads, or up against another business's parking lot. Perry is a proper marina with a proper sign and a proper hotel attached to it. The address you'd give a rideshare driver is the address of the slip. First-time visitors and returning guests both walk up to the same dock without a phone call asking us where the entrance is.
The basin itself is north-facing, which matters more than people realize. On a stiff south or southeast wind — the wind direction most common in Key West — Perry's basin is glass-flat while the Atlantic side is bumping. That's why Perry runs first when conditions push that way. On the flip side, when a hard north or northeast wind comes through, our Hurricane Hole location is the calmer launch, and we'll move you there with the same Six Fins crew. Same fleet, same brief, different geometry.
Everything in the Six Fins ride is the same regardless of which marina you launch from: brand-new 2024 Yamaha Waverunners, a max of six skis per guided group, a Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission-permitted local guide leading every guided departure, fuel and PFDs and dry bags included. What changes from Perry is the entry point to the water — backcountry channels, the Boca Chica sandbar, and the Stock Island Channel are right there. The route runs through the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, passing the Naval Air Station Key West coastline and the boundaries of the protected mangroves. Wildlife you may spot: dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays, nurse sharks, tarpon, pelicans, and frigate birds.
Why Perry specifically
Four reasons guests pick the Perry launch
Not slogans. Things you'll notice when you walk down to the dock.
Hotel-adjacent & visible
Perry Hotel & Marina is signposted off US-1 with a proper marina entrance. If you're staying at Perry it's a walk-down. If you're driving in, you can see the basin from the road.
Free on-site parking
Plug in 7025 Shrimp Rd (Dock J, Slip 1), park in the marina lot, walk to the slip. No paid garage, no street hunt, no shuttle. The lot is flat and the walk is short even with a cooler.
Protected north basin
The Perry basin faces north, which means the island itself blocks south, southeast, and southwest winds. On the most common Key West wind days, this is the calmer launch.
Six Fins original slip
We've been running jet skis out of Perry since 2024 — the founding location for the company. The crew knows every approach, every channel, every tide on this basin.
Tours launching from Perry

$209 / ski
1-Hour Freestyle Ride
One supervised hour in the open-water freestyle zone. Safety boat on the water, no guided route — the closest thing to a true walk-up jet ski rental in Key West. Launches from Hurricane Hole Marina; Perry guests get the address when they book.
$160 / ski
More than a jet ski rental
Resort day & downtown shuttle — included.

Pool & marina access
Full use of The Perry’s pool, marina, and on-property amenities on the day of your booking — whether you’re a hotel guest or just driving in for the ride.
On-property restaurants
Eat or have a drink before or after the ride at any of The Perry’s restaurants and the marina-side dock bar.
Downtown shuttle
Use The Perry’s complimentary shuttle between the hotel, Higgs Beach, and the A&B Marina downtown — skip the rideshare run.
No upcharge
Always free with every Six Fins booking. Contractual via our marina agreement, not a discretionary perk.
Two kinds of guests, one slip
Perry guests & walk-up visitors, both welcome
You don't have to be staying at the hotel to ride. About half our Perry bookings come from people driving in for the day.
If you're staying at Perry Hotel & Marina: walk down to the marina basin, find the line of Yamaha Waverunners with the Six Fins flag, and you're at the slip. Your captain or guide will meet you at the dock at your departure time. No parking, no rideshare, no figuring out where to leave the car — this is the closest a jet ski rental gets to room service. Hotel concierge can confirm you're booked with us if you have any doubts.
If you're driving in from elsewhere in the Keys: the address is 7025 Shrimp Rd, Dock J, Slip 1, Key West, FL 33040 (at Coconut Row). From Old Town Key West it's about ten minutes north on US-1. From Marathon or the upper Keys it's a straight shot south. Once you turn onto Shrimp Road, follow signs for Perry Hotel & Marina — the marina entrance is clearly marked. Park free in the marina lot, walk to the dock, the Six Fins flag is your landmark.
Either way, plan to arrive about 20 minutes before your reservation. We use that time for ID check, lanyard fit, the on-water safety briefing, and the throttle-and-kill-switch walkthrough. If you've booked the 2-Hour Flagship or 1-Hour Freestyle, the email confirmation will direct you to the Hurricane Hole address instead — those routes launch from the south side of Stock Island because the geometry works better from there.
Perry vs Hurricane Hole
Honest wind-direction guide
We won't tell you Perry is always the right answer. Some days, the other location is calmer. Here's how we actually decide.
Your FWC-permitted guides
The crew leading rides out of Perry
Every guided departure from Perry is led by a Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission-permitted local guide. FWC permits are the credential that matters for jet ski livery work in this state.

Drew
FWC-Permitted Guide
Six skis per guide, max. That's the cap we picked because it's the number a single guide can actually keep eyes on, talk to over the radio, and lead at a pace that flexes — adrenaline seekers ride up front near the guide, leisurely riders cruise back in the pack. Nobody stuck behind a 20-ski conga line.

Frequently asked
Perry-specific questions, answered
The actual questions guests ask us about the Perry launch — not generic FAQ filler.
Where is the Six Fins jet ski rental at Perry Hotel?
The Perry jet ski rental launch is at Perry Hotel & Marina, 7025 Shrimp Rd, Dock J Slip 1, Key West, FL 33040 (at Coconut Row) — about ten minutes north of Old Town Key West on US-1. We're hotel-adjacent and visible from the road, with free parking in the marina lot. Walk to the marina basin and look for the Six Fins flag at the slip. Call (305) 906-2880 if you can't spot us at the dock.
What’s included with my Six Fins booking from Perry?
Every Six Fins booking includes a complimentary Perry Hotel & Marina day pass — full access to the pool, the marina, the on-property restaurants, and The Perry’s complimentary shuttle between the hotel, Higgs Beach, and the A&B Marina downtown. From the Perry launch you’re already at the resort.
On the ride itself: fuel, FWC-permitted lead guide on guided departures, and Type III life vests for every rider. The Yamaha Waverunner VX Series seats up to 3 riders at the same flat price. Florida sales tax and gratuity are the only items added at checkout.
Do I need to be staying at Perry Hotel to rent a jet ski?
No. Anyone can book a Six Fins jet ski rental from Perry — you don't need to be a hotel guest. About half our Perry bookings come from people driving in for the day. Perry guests get easy walk-down access, but day visitors are equally welcome. Free parking is available for everyone.
Which tours launch directly from Perry, and which transfer?
The 90-Minute Premium Guided Tour ($189/ski) is the Perry-exclusive jet ski rental — it launches directly from Perry Hotel & Marina.
The 2-Hour Flagship Tour ($209/ski) and the 1-Hour Freestyle Ride ($160/ski) both launch from our Hurricane Hole Marina location instead — the 28-mile loop runs cleanest from the south side, and Freestyle uses the defined open-water zone on the Atlantic side. Same Six Fins crew, same fleet, just a 5-minute drive over. If you book those tours, the email confirmation will direct you to the Hurricane Hole address.
Is Perry the right launch on a windy day?
Depends on the wind direction. Perry's basin is north-facing, which means the island and the marina structure block south, southeast, and southwest winds — the most common directions in Key West. On those days, Perry is glass while the Atlantic side is bumping.
On a hard north or northeast wind day, the basin opens into the wind and gets choppier than usual — on those days Hurricane Hole is the calmer launch. We'll always recommend the right marina when you book based on that day's forecast.
Is there parking at Perry for rental guests?
Yes. Free guest parking is available on-site at Perry Hotel & Marina, and the walk from the parking lot to the marina basin is short and flat. If you're staying at Perry, leave the car at the hotel and walk down. If you're driving in, plug in 7025 Shrimp Rd, Key West, FL 33040 (Dock J, Slip 1, at Coconut Row) — the marina entrance is signposted.
Who leads the guided rides from Perry?
Every guided departure from Perry is led by an FWC-permitted local guide — usually JJ, Manny, Carter, or Drew. Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission permits are the credential that matters for jet ski livery work in this state. Groups are capped at six skis per guide so the pace can actually flex for the slowest rider.
What's on-site at Perry Hotel for rental guests?
Perry Hotel & Marina is a full resort: on-site restaurants, pools, gym, and a marina-side lounge. Even if you're not staying there, you can grab a coffee before your ride or a drink at the dock bar after. The Six Fins slip is steps from the boardwalk, so you're not walking far to anything.
How early should I arrive at Perry for my rental?
Plan for 20 minutes before your reservation time. We use that window for ID check, PFD and lanyard fit, the on-water safety briefing, and the throttle-and-kill-switch walkthrough. If you arrive much later than that we may have to push your start time to keep the rest of the day on schedule. If you're running late, call (305) 906-2880 and we'll do what we can.
What's the difference between Perry and Hurricane Hole?
Perry is the north-facing basin on Stock Island — the original Six Fins location since 2024, hotel-adjacent, visible from US-1, with free parking and resort amenities. It's the walk-up easy choice and calmer on south/east winds.
Hurricane Hole is the Atlantic-side launch off US-1 with the on-site restaurant. The 2-hour Flagship loop runs out of there for geometric reasons. It's the calmer launch on north winds. Same crew, same fleet, two different ways to start the day. See the wind-direction matrix above for which one fits your day.
