For Key West Cruise Passengers

The 2-hour jet ski tour your shore excursion doesn't offer.

Skip the 25-ski conga line. We run small-group tours from two Key West launches — and on wind days when the pier operators cancel, we usually don't.

Why cruise passengers choose Six Fins

Three reasons to skip the pier booth.

Cruise passengers get one shot at a Key West excursion. Here's what makes ours different from the pier operators selling 50 feet from your gangway.

🌊

We run when others don't

Our Hurricane Hole launch is leeward on north and northeast wind days — the exact days pier operators cancel. If your shore excursion got cancelled, call us before you give up.

⏱️

Twice the tour

The only 2-hour guided jet ski tour in Key West. Full island circumnavigation — not a 60-minute loop around the protected harbor.

👥

Small groups, real tours

Maximum 6 skis per departure. No 25-ski conga line. You ride your line, set your pace, and the guide can actually see you.

Booked a shore excursion that got cancelled?

Wind from the north shuts down most Key West operators. Our Hurricane Hole Marina sits on Stock Island's protected south side — and we're usually still on the water. Call before you write off the day.

Getting here from the cruise port

The closest Six Fins jet ski launch to Pier B.

Mallory Square and Pier B are on the west end of Key West. Hurricane Hole Marina is a quick Uber or taxi away on Stock Island — the closest Six Fins launch to the cruise port.

🚢

We'll get you back in time.

Tell us your all-aboard time when you book. We build a 30-minute buffer into every cruise-passenger tour and recommend Uber for the return — the most reliable way back to the gangway.

Two ways to ride

Pick the tour that fits your port window.

Tight on time? Confident rider who wants to open it up? We've got the right format. Both include fuel, USCG-approved PFDs, and a senior guide — and both launch from Hurricane Hole Marina, the closest Six Fins launch to Pier B.

Cruise passenger FAQ

Cruise passenger questions, answered.

Can cruise passengers book a Six Fins jet ski tour?

Yes. Cruise passengers can book Six Fins jet ski tours as long as the tour time fits the ship's port window. Tell Six Fins your ship name, docking time, and all-aboard time when booking so the team can recommend the safest schedule.

Cruise guests often choose the 1-Hour Freestyle Ride when time is tight or the 2-Hour Flagship Tour when the ship is in port long enough for the full experience.

Which jet ski tour is best for a cruise port day?

Choose the 1-Hour Freestyle Ride if you have a tighter port window and want quick, supervised open-water riding. Choose the 2-Hour Flagship Guided Island Tour if you have enough time and want the longest jet ski tour in Key West and the Lower Keys.

The 2-hour tour is the stronger shore-excursion replacement when your schedule allows it. It is designed as an 28-mile island loop, depending on route, weather, and marine conditions.

Can I just rent a jet ski and go out on my own from the cruise port?

No. Six Fins does not offer unguided jet ski rentals. All Six Fins jet ski experiences are guided or guide-supervised for safety, route control, and responsible operation in Key West waters.

That matters when you are on a cruise schedule. Our guides know the local waters, safe lines, wind exposure, boat traffic, and return timing. The goal is not just to get you on the water; it is to get you back to the ship with margin.

How far is Six Fins from the Key West cruise port?

Hurricane Hole Marina is the closest Six Fins jet ski launch to the cruise port. It is a short Uber, taxi, or rideshare from Pier B and Mallory Square on the west end of Key West to Stock Island.

Travel time depends on traffic, ship crowds, and the exact pier. Six Fins builds in at least a 30-minute return buffer and recommends rideshare or taxi for the most predictable return to the gangway.

What if my cruise ship is delayed?

Call or text Six Fins as soon as you know. The team may be able to move you to a later time, shift you to a shorter ride, or recommend the safest option inside your remaining port window.

Do not wait until your scheduled check-in time to call. The sooner Six Fins knows, the more likely the team can help.

What if my shore excursion was cancelled because of wind?

Call Six Fins before giving up on the day. Hurricane Hole Marina can have a wind-day advantage when north or northeast winds affect other Key West launches.

Six Fins will only run if conditions are safe, but two launch options and local guide judgment can sometimes make a ride possible when a pier-side operator cancels.

Do cruise passengers need boating safety documentation?

Any driver born on or after January 1, 1988 needs approved boating-safety education documentation to operate a jet ski in Florida. Drivers who need it can take the FWC-approved Temporary Boater Safety Course online ahead of time and bring proof — the fee is $9.99.

Drivers must also be at least 16 with valid government-issued photo ID. Bring your ID, cruise card or boarding pass if using a cruise discount, and any completed boating-safety documentation.

Can first-time riders book during a port day?

Yes, if the timing works. Every Six Fins ride includes a safety briefing and guide support. The 1-Hour Freestyle Ride is often easiest for first-time cruise guests with limited time, while the 2-Hour Flagship Tour is better for guests with a longer port window.

If you are nervous or unsure, call before booking. Six Fins can help match the ride to your ship schedule and comfort level.

What is included?

Your Six Fins jet ski booking includes the Yamaha WaveRunner VX, fuel, USCG-approved life jacket, safety briefing, and guide or guide-supervised route support. Taxes, gratuity, optional protection products, and third-party booking fees may be separate depending on how you book.

Bring photo ID, any required boating-safety documentation, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a towel.

What is the cancellation policy for cruise passengers?

Direct jet ski bookings require 48-hour notice for cancellation. Bookings made within 48 hours, cancellations inside 48 hours, late arrivals, and no-shows are non-refundable.

If Six Fins determines conditions are unsafe, guests may be rescheduled or refunded according to the applicable booking policy. Third-party shore-excursion or OTA bookings may follow the policy shown on that platform.
