It is the ideal option when your group is too large for a standard private boat but still wants a fully private charter instead of a shared party cruise — think wedding groups, sports teams, corporate outings, and big friend reunions.
How long is the charter, and can we choose the length?
You can book a 4-hour half-day or the full 6-hour experience. The half-day is perfect for hitting one or two sandbars with time to swim, snorkel, and float. The 6-hour charter opens up multiple stops and time to venture into the backcountry with more time at each destination.
Every trip is 100% private, and your captain plans the route with you ahead of time around your group’s interests, the tides, and the weather — so no two charters are exactly the same.
What is included on the boat?
Your charter includes a USCG-licensed captain and mate, the spacious pontoon party boat, shade and seating, and a full-size onboard bathroom — a real restroom, not a portable head.
You also get a premium Bluetooth sound system you control, WiFi and USB charging, complimentary snorkel masks, a floating water mat and floating dock, and complimentary floats such as lily pads and pool noodles.
Is there a real bathroom on board?
Yes — the party boat has a full-size onboard bathroom, which is a big deal for a long day on the water with a large group. No cutting the day short to run back to shore.
Can we bring our own food, drinks, and decorations?
Yes. The party boat is BYO. Bring drinks, snacks, sandwiches, party food, and whatever your group likes — and feel free to bring decorations for birthdays, bachelorette parties, and milestone celebrations.
Cans and plastic are better than glass on deck, and the captain remains responsible for vessel safety.

Can we swim, snorkel, or use the floats?
Yes. The charter is built around getting in the water when conditions allow. Guests can swim, snorkel with the complimentary masks over the flats, float on the water mat and lily pads, lounge on the floating dock, hang in the shade, or relax with music and drinks.
The captain chooses the location based on wind, tide, depth, other boats, and safety.
What sandbars and sights might we visit?
Depending on the day’s conditions, your captain may head to iconic spots like the Boca Grande Sandbar for waist-deep turquoise water and snorkeling, secluded Snipes Key surrounded by crystal-clear shallows, or the calm, protected water of Jewfish Basin.
You’re also cruising the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and its mangrove bird islands, so keep an eye out for bottlenose dolphins in the wake, eagle rays and stingrays gliding over the sand, nurse sharks, and nesting birds like frigatebirds, pelicans, and herons.
Is a specific destination guaranteed?
No exact sandbar or route is guaranteed. The captain chooses the safest and best spot for the day’s conditions among popular destinations such as Boca Grande Sandbar, Snipes Key, and Jewfish Basin.
The best day is not always the most famous sandbar; it is the spot with the right depth, wind protection, room to anchor, and space for your group.
Who is running the boat — is it safe?
Every charter is run by an experienced USCG-licensed captain and mate who handle navigation, anchoring, and all the on-water details so your group can relax. The crew chooses safe anchorages and keeps the day smooth from start to finish.
What should we wear and bring?
Wear swimsuits or easy boat clothes. Bring towels, reef-safe sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, food, drinks, decorations if you want them, and a playlist.
The boat provides the floats, water mat, floating dock, shade, sound system, snorkel masks, and crew. Pack like you are going to a private beach party on the water.
Can we add jet skis or another activity?
Sometimes. If your group wants to combine the party boat with jet skis, snorkeling, fishing, sunset, or another charter element, ask before booking so Six Fins can build the right schedule.
For multi-activity days, the Custom Combo Charter or Jet Ski + Boat Combo may be a better fit than a simple party charter.
How far in advance should we book?
The party boat books fast, especially during peak season. Because it’s the largest private charter vessel in Key West, popular dates for weekends, holidays, and big celebrations go quickly — so lock in your date as early as you can.
What happens if weather is unsafe?
If conditions are determined to be unsafe, guests may be rescheduled or refunded according to the applicable booking policy. If the charter can run safely but one sandbar or anchorage is not ideal, the captain may adjust the route.
The goal is a safe, private party day — not forcing the boat into bad water.
