Waterfront restaurant right at the marina.
This ride departs Hurricane Hole Marina, which has its own restaurant steps from the dock — easy to arrive early or stay for lunch after your ride. The complimentary Perry Hotel Day Pass (pool and gym access, an approximately $35 value) applies to Perry departures only; if you’d like that perk, book a tour departing Perry Hotel & Marina instead.
The 1-hour freestyle jet ski rental: less commitment, same Yamaha VX.
The 1-hour Freestyle Ride is the quick option — guided, fast, and out of Hurricane Hole Marina. If you have an afternoon slot, a half-day gap in your Key West schedule, or just want to know what a Yamaha VX at full throttle feels like, this is the right booking.
The guide leads the group out of the harbor, gets everyone comfortable, then opens it up in the open water south of Stock Island. Room to play, room to ride fast, same six-ski-max format as our other tours.
No sandbar stop on this one — it’s a riding tour, not a swimming tour. If you want the swim, book the 90-minute Premium or the 2-hour Flagship.

What is the 1-Hour Freestyle Jet Ski Ride?
The 1-Hour Freestyle Jet Ski Ride is Six Fins' quick open-water ride from Hurricane Hole Marina. It is designed for guests who want speed, throttle time, and a shorter Key West jet ski experience without committing to a longer guided island route.
It is still a Six Fins ride: small group, Yamaha WaveRunner VX, safety briefing, guide support, and a maximum of six customer skis plus one guide.
Can I just rent a jet ski and go out on my own?
No. Six Fins does not offer unguided jet ski rentals. The 1-Hour Freestyle Jet Ski Ride is the closest option to riding independently, but it is still guide-supervised for safety, route control, and responsible operation in Key West waters.
Think of it like hiring a ski instructor in unfamiliar terrain: the guide gets you safely to the right area, then gives you room to ride. Your guide leads you to approved free-ride areas, watches conditions, manages boat traffic and route safety, and keeps the group away from shallow flats, sandbars, channels, and hazards that may sit just below the surface.
If you want sightseeing, sandbar time, or the full island-lap route, book the 90-Minute Premium Tour or the 2-Hour Flagship Tour instead.
Is the 1-hour ride a guided tour?
The 1-hour Freestyle Ride is guided for safety and structure, but it is not the same as the 90-minute or 2-hour route tours. The guide leads the group out, sets the safe riding area and pace, watches conditions, and keeps the group organized.
If you want sightseeing, sandbar time, and a longer route, book the 90-Minute Premium Tour or 2-Hour Flagship Tour.
Is there a sandbar stop on the 1-hour ride?
No. The 1-hour Freestyle Ride is a riding-focused experience, not a swimming or sandbar tour. It is built for guests who want open-water throttle time and a shorter session.
If a sandbar stop matters to you, choose the 90-Minute Premium Tour. If you want the full Key West island loop, choose the 2-Hour Flagship Tour.
Why does the 1-hour ride launch from Hurricane Hole Marina?
Hurricane Hole Marina is the right launch point for this shorter open-water ride because of how the freestyle route is staged from that side of Stock Island / Key West. It allows the guide to get the group out, ride, and return within the one-hour format.
Hurricane Hole also offers a more casual marina setting and free parking for guests.
Who should book the 1-hour Freestyle Ride?
Book the 1-hour ride if you want a fast, simple, high-energy jet ski experience in Key West. It is a good fit for first-time riders who want to try a Yamaha WaveRunner VX, guests with limited time, and people who care more about riding than sightseeing.
If you want a sandbar swim or a full island-lap route, choose one of the longer Six Fins tours.
Is the 1-hour ride good for beginners?
Yes. The 1-hour ride can be a good beginner choice because it is shorter, guided, and focused on getting comfortable with the ski. You receive a safety briefing before departure, and the guide manages the pace and riding area.
If you love it, the 90-minute or 2-hour tour is the natural next step.
How much does the 1-hour Freestyle Ride cost?
The 1-Hour Freestyle Jet Ski Ride is $160 per ski. The price is per ski, not per person, and one Yamaha WaveRunner VX may carry up to three riders subject to the 530-lb total weight limit, rider comfort, sea conditions, and guide approval.
Taxes, gratuity, optional protection products, and third-party booking fees may be separate depending on how you book.
Can kids ride on the 1-hour Freestyle Ride?
Yes. Passengers must be at least 6 years old, and any child rider must ride with an adult 21 or older on the same ski. Six Fins requires drivers to be at least 16 years old with a valid government-issued photo ID.
The 1-hour length can work well for younger passengers who may not be ready for a longer tour.
Do I need a boating safety card?
Drivers born on or after January 1, 1988 need approved boating-safety education documentation to operate a jet ski in Florida. You may complete an approved temporary course before arrival or arrive early and complete it at the dock when available. Drivers who need it can take the FWC-approved Temporary Boater Safety Course online ahead of time and bring proof β the fee is $9.99.
All drivers must be at least 16, show valid photo ID, complete the safety briefing, and follow guide instructions.
What should I bring?
Bring a valid photo ID, the credit card used for booking, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a towel. Bring boating-safety documentation if you completed the course before arrival.
The ride is short, but you will still get wet. Leave valuables at the dock when possible.
What happens if weather is unsafe?
If Six Fins determines conditions are unsafe, guests may be rescheduled or refunded according to the applicable booking policy. The guide may also adjust the riding area based on wind, marine traffic, and water conditions.
The freestyle ride is about fun, but safety controls the final decision.
What is the cancellation policy?
Direct bookings require 48-hour notice for cancellation. Bookings made within 48 hours, cancellations inside 48 hours, late arrivals, and no-shows are non-refundable.
Reservation Refund Protection, when purchased, may allow an eligible refund or transfer up to one hour before departure. Third-party bookings may follow the policy shown on that platform.
