What “Private” Actually Means

Not a shared cruise. Not a crowd. Your boat, your people.

A lot of Key West water activities put you shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers for a few hours. A private charter doesn’t — the boat is reserved for your group only, which matters if privacy or comfort with the crowd is part of why you’re booking.

Shared charter / party boat

  • You’re seated next to people you’ve never met
  • Fixed departure time, fixed route, fixed return
  • 40 to 100 passengers on a pontoon or catamaran
  • Music, photos, and pace are set for the crowd, not you
  • The captain belongs to the whole boat, not your group
  • Bathroom is shared with everyone aboard

Six Fins private boat charter

  • The Jeanneau NC 895 is yours from dock to return
  • You set the launch time and the dock-in time
  • Up to 8 guests — nobody on board you didn’t invite
  • Itinerary built around what your group wants to do
  • USCG-licensed captain dedicated to your party
  • Private head, private shaded cabin, private cooler

The Jeanneau NC 895 — our flagship private charter boat

Jeanneau NC 895 — 30’ cabin cruiser

The NC 895 is what Jeanneau builds for people who want a yacht-grade ride without yacht-grade fuss. Twin outboards, a full shaded cabin, an enclosed private head, and the kind of beam that keeps the deck steady when the trade winds pick up in the afternoon.

Frequently Asked

LGBTQ+ & Pride charter, answered.

The questions guests ask before they book, in plain English.

Is Six Fins LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes. Key West has one of the most established LGBTQ+ travel scenes in the country, and Six Fins welcomes every guest aboard.

A private charter reserves the boat for your group only — no strangers, no shared seating, and a USCG-licensed captain who runs a professional, welcoming trip regardless of who's on board.

Can we book a private charter for Pride week?

Yes. Pride week is one of the most popular times to book a private Six Fins charter — sandbar days, sunset cruises, and custom combo trips all work well as a private group outing during Pride.

Book as early as possible during Pride week and other peak Key West dates, since availability is limited.

Is there a clothing-optional option?

Yes. Any private charter can be booked as a clothing-optional charter for adults-only groups.

That product has its own dedicated privacy and photography policy: no photography or video while onboard or whenever the Six Fins boat appears anywhere in frame; crew do not record guests, and guests may not record other guests or crew; non-explicit, no sexual activity.

Do you offer a discount for LGBTQ+ or Pride groups?

No separate LGBTQ+ or Pride discount exists. Pricing is the same standard private charter pricing available to every guest. Ask about the standard direct-booking price guarantee when you call.

What if we want total privacy?

Every Six Fins private charter is your group only — no shared passengers, no fixed group-tour script. The captain selects the anchorage or route the day of the trip based on wind, tide, and other boat traffic, and can prioritize a quieter or more secluded spot on request.

Can two couples celebrate an anniversary or proposal aboard?

Yes. Private charters are a strong fit for proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, and small celebrations for any couple or group.

Tell Six Fins about the occasion when you book so the captain can help shape timing, route, and the moment that matters.

What kind of boat do we get?

Six Fins' flagship private charter boat is a 30-foot Jeanneau NC 895 cabin cruiser with a shaded cabin, private enclosed head, comfortable seating, swim platform, cooler, and Bluetooth speaker — built to feel like a private boat rather than a crowded tour vessel.

How many guests can come?

1–6 guests is the standard six-pack charter, with fuel and a USCG-licensed captain included. A 7th guest is available under a bareboat structure for +$150, and an 8th guest for +$300 — 8 is the maximum.

On the bareboat leg, the Charterer (must be 21+) hires and pays the captain separately at $65 per charter-hour, and fuel is billed at $35 per charter-hour through FareHarbor. Call before booking so the team can walk you through the structure.

Where does the boat charter depart from?

Boat charters depart from Perry Hotel & Marina on Stock Island / Key West, Dock A, Slip #32. Your confirmation will include arrival instructions.

What happens if weather is unsafe?

If Six Fins or the captain determines conditions are unsafe, guests may be rescheduled or refunded according to the applicable booking policy. The captain makes the call based on safety, not pressure to run the trip.

Ready to make the day yours?

Tell us when you’re in town and what kind of day you want — Pride week, a couples' sunset, or just the boat to yourselves. We’ll quote the boat, hold the date, and the captain will start building your itinerary from there.
